Shelter Driver – Full Time*

Provide safe transportation for agency clients and support to staff in the completion of daily activities.

Requirements:

-          Minimum GED or High School Degree.

-          Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with required auto liability coverage; pass a criminal background check, and a drug screening.

-          At least 25 years of age. 

-          Ability to respond supportively to adults and children. 

-          Strong interest in working for a social service agency. 

-          Ability to work with people from all socioeconomic and racial backgrounds, a beginning level of skill in crisis intervention and assessment.  

-          Will be trained on sensitivity issues of working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.

-          Must complete volunteer/staff training.

 

Residential Advocate – Full Time* (Fri–Sun, 3pm–11pm & Sun-Mon 11pm–7am)

Responsible for the overall function of the shelter.  To provide incoming shelter client eligibility screening, support, crisis intervention, information and additional service coordination (such as transportation and dispatching Personal Accompaniment Volunteers – PAV’S) for survivors of family violence and sexual assault on the 24-hour hotline. 

Requirements:

-          Minimum GED or High School Degree.

-          Must be able to work with people from all socioeconomic backgrounds, and possess a beginning level of skill in crisis intervention and assessment.

-          Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with required auto liability coverage; pass a criminal background check, and a drug screening.

-          Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

-          Must complete training on sensitivity issues of working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.

-          Must complete staff/volunteer training.

Shelter Cook – Part Time

Responsible for providing meals for residents

Requirements:

-          Minimum GED or High School Degree.

-          Must obtain food certification within 6 months of hire.

-          Must be able to work with people from all socioeconomic backgrounds, and possess a beginning level of skill in crisis intervention and assessment.

-          Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with required auto liability coverage; pass a criminal background check, and a drug screening.

-          Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

-          Must complete training on sensitivity issues of working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.

-          Must complete staff/volunteer training.

 

Shelter Playcare Assistant – Part Time

Responsible for supervising and providing care to resident’s children ages 0-15 years.

Requirements:

-          Minimum GED or High School Degree.

-          Must be able to work with people from all socioeconomic backgrounds, and possess a beginning level of skill in crisis intervention and assessment.

-          Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with required auto liability coverage; pass a criminal background check, and a drug screening.

-          Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

-          Must complete training on sensitivity issues of working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.

-          Must complete staff/volunteer training.

 

PennyWise Resale Center Cashiers – Part Time (Stafford & Mission Bend)

Responsible for assisting with the operation of the PennyWise store and Furniture Pick-up Services.

-          Minimum High School Graduate or GED

-          One year experience as a cashier

-          Professional appearance

-          Valid Texas Driver’s License

-          Ability to work with the public

-          Ability to operate a cash register and properly handle money
